EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Kutztown University wrestling team fell to #7 Mercyhurst University on Friday night, 36-7, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup held at a neutral location of East Stroudsburg University.

Kutztown (6-4, 1-3 PSAC) trailed from the opening bout of the match, but did manage to record two late wins against the Lakers.

Redshirt-sophomore
Collin Schildt (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) recorded the first win of the day for Kutztown, an 8-7 decision over Angelo Bortoluzzi at 184 pounds. It was Schildt's fifth win of the season and eighth of his career.

Redshirt-senior
Brandan Clark (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) followed Schildt with a win of his own at 197 pounds. He defeated Jamar Henry by major decision, 10-0, to cut Mercyhurst's lead to 33-7. Clark improved his record to 13-2 this season.

Mercyhurst (7-3, 3-0) picked up a pin from Jeremy Landowski at 149 and technical falls from Francis Mizia and August Mizia at 165 and 174, respectively.

KU returns to the mat on Saturday, Jan. 30, as it competes in four dual matches at the Super Region 2 Duals in Hartsville, S.C. Kutztown begins the day at 9 a.m. against Anderson University and later faces off against UNC Pembroke, Belmont Abbey and Newberry.
