Kutztown (12-4, 9-3 PSAC East) and East Stroudsburg (13-3, 9-3) played a closely-contested first half with the Warriors holding a 25-24 lead with 5:28 to play in the period.

East Stroudsburg went on a 9-0 run over the next 1:40 of the half to take a commanding 34-24 advantage with three minutes to go in the half. KU went into the half trailing 44-33.

The Golden Bears came out firing in the second half with a quick 14-0 run in the first four minutes of action behind eight straight points from
Ryan Connolly (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) and back-to-back layups by
Anthony Lee (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington). It gave them a 47-44 advantage early in the half.

The Warriors wasted no time in striking right back with a game-changing 26-4 run from the 14:16 mark to the 7:37 mark in the second half to give themselves a 72-53 lead.

KU did not give up as it went on a 13-6 run of its own in the next three minutes of action to cut the lead to 78-66 with just over four minutes to play, but East Stroudsburg managed to hold on for the 86-75 win.

The loss for KU was its ninth consecutive against the Warriors and the 11th in the last 12 matchups.

Lee played a magnificent game, posting a career-high 28 points (8-15 FG, 10-12 FT), six rebounds and two steals. It was the fifth consecutive game that Lee scored 15 or more points and his 10th double-digit scoring effort of the season.

Connolly had 14 points, while
Anthony Selby (Jersey City, N.J./Williamstown (Burlington County CC)) recorded 11 points and six rebounds.

Junior
Austin Beidelman (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) had seven points, six assists and four steals, while
Dan Cuevas (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) chipped in with six points off the bench.

East Stroudsburg had six players score in double-figures. Quindell Brice had a team-high 13 points and four rebounds off the bench. Jamal Nwaniemeka, Rasheed Moore, Nick Giordano and Wes Cherry each contributed 11 points, while Will Brown had 10.

The Warriors shot 44 percent from the field and held KU to a 37 percent clip. East Stroudsburg held a huge advantage in bench points with 43 to just 11 for Kutztown.

Kutztown will look to halt a two-game losing skid on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 7:30 p.m. as it takes on Mansfield University inside Keystone Arena.
