HTML Box Score BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Less than 24 hours after returning from Edinboro, the Kutztown University women's lacrosse team traveled to Bloomsburg University to take on the 20th-ranked Huskies in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action on Saturday. Senior
Taylor Stone scored half of KU's goals, but the Golden Bears fell 18-8.
After recording three hat tricks throughout her career, Stone's four goals on Saturday marks a new career high for the senior attack. She tallied the four goals off of eight shots, while adding a draw control and an assist on
Lauren Huggins' first-half strike.
Along with Huggins,
Kelli Serpi,
Jillian Spencer, and
Sarah Gabriele all put one in the back of the net to lead the Kutztown (1-6, 0-4 PSAC) attack. Spencer also dished out two assists, with
Madison Carlucci adding the final helper.
Defensively, Serpi picked up a game- and career-high five groundballs, one shy of her season total coming into the game. Spencer and
Kelsey Halligan each grabbed three apiece.
Huggins and Carlucci scooped up two draw controls each, and Spencer forced two of the team's five caused turnovers.
For the third game in a row,
Abby Cox and
Jen Bergey each played a half at goalkeeper. The duo combined for six saves.
Bloomsburg (5-2, 4-0 PSAC) featured a balanced attack with the trio of Taylor Turner, Patrice Coleman, and Julia Falk recording hat tricks. Brigid Kyne was a force in the center of the field, winning 10 draw controls. Goalkeepers Brittney Hegarty and Abbey Burnett split time in net.
