LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's volleyball team dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match at Lock Haven University on Saturday afternoon in straight sets inside Thomas Fieldhouse.
Kutztown (8-24, 5-15 PSAC) dropped the first two sets by scores of 25-14 and 25-15 to Lock Haven (19-11, 11-8), but kept it close in the final set, falling to the Bald Eagles 25-23.
Juniors
Madison Brake (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) and
Anna Conti (Grove City, Ohio/Grove City) each moved up KU all-time leaderboards in the match. Brake recorded 11 digs, moving her into seventh place in school history for single-season digs with 462. She is 25 digs shy of sixth all-time in KU history.
Conti compiled a team-high 11 assists. It gives her 2,391 in her career, which moves her into third all-time in school history for career assists. She needs nine assists to reach 2,400.
Senior
Audrey Stringer (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) recorded a team-best nine kills in the match to go along with a match-high four total blocks.
Jessica Howe (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) had six kills and four digs, while freshman
Niki Carpenter (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion Area) chipped in with five kills and three total blocks.
Shannon Restrepo (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) contributed five kills and nine digs.
Tori Wakelee (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) recorded three kills and a team-best 13 digs.
Brittany Moyer paced the Bald Eagles with 14 kills and 10 digs. Sarah Gomish also contributed with 14 kills, while Megan Flick had nine kills and 15 digs. Jessica Brown compiled an impressive 41 assists in the match.
Kutztown returns home to Keystone Arena next weekend for its final two regular-season matches of the season. The Golden Bears take on Shippensburg on Friday, Nov 13 at 7 p.m. and match up with Millersville on Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m.
