Women's Volleyball Records Victory over Cheyney in Straight Sets

CHEYNEY, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's volleyball team defeated Cheyney University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match on Saturday afternoon in straight sets. Set scores in the contest were 25-4, 25-11 and 25-11.
 
Kutztown (7-22, 4-13 PSAC) got off to an outstanding start in the match, recording an easy 25-4 victory in the opening set. The Golden Bears took both the second and third sets 25-11 to claim the straight sets win. It was the second win for Kutztown in its last three matches overall.
 
Senior Audrey Stringer (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) led Kutztown with 11 kills in the match, her 17th double-digit effort of the season. She moved into fourth place all-time in KU history with 1,074 career kills. Stringer is 70 kills shy of tying Missy Klein for third on the career kills list at KU.
 
Sophomore McKenzie Fagan (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) recorded seven kills in the contest to go along with five digs. Abbe Ahern (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) chipped in with five kills.
 
Freshman Shannon Restrepo (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) had match-highs of four service aces, nine digs and 20 assists. Anna Conti (Grove City, Ohio/Grove City) contributed with five digs and 12 assists, while Kim Groff (Audubon, Pa./Methacton (Moravian)) helped out with six digs.
 
Cheyney (2-22, 0-15) was led by Chelsea Hutson, who had a team-high six kills. Virshae Campbell had three kills and eight digs, while Kilondra Davis chipped in with four kills and seven digs. Nishay Carrier led the Wolves with a team-best 15 assists.
 
Kutztown heads back to the court on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at East Stroudsburg University inside Koehler Fieldhouse.
