Complete KU Game Notes

SERIES HISTORY: Saturday marks the 31st meeting between the Golden Bears and the Bald Eagles, dating back to 1930. Kutztown holds a seven-game winning streak in the head-to-head series, and Saturday will mark the third time the teams meet as Eastern Division foes. The all-time series is tied at 15-15, but Lock Haven's last win in the series was a 21-14 victory in 2002 at LHU. The teams have met four times in the last five years, with Kutztown holding an average winning margin of 27 points.

TITLE HOPES: Tied for fourth in the PSAC East standings, Kutztown is still in the hunt for a PSAC East title. If Kutztown wins its final two PSAC East games (LHU and SHIP), and East Stroudsburg wins its final two PSAC East games (BLOOM and WCU), five teams have the potential to be 5-2 in the division, crowning the Golden Bears as co-PSAC East champs. It would be Kutztown's third division title in the 100-season history of the program.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Chad Barton (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) earned his first career PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Week honor this week. Against ESU, Barton accounted for five scores, four through the air and one on his feet. He posted the second five-touchdown game of his career and finished with 321 passing yards on 26-of-36 passing. He also ran for a 32-yard touchdown.

300-300 GAME: Against ESU last week, KU displayed its most balanced attack of the last three years, producing 301 rushing and 321 passing yards for 622 total yards of offense. It is Kutztown's first 300-300 game since Oct. 27, 2012, a 366-yard rushing and 344-passing yard performance at home against Millersville.

100-100 GAME: KU posted a 100-yard rusher and a 100-yard receiver last week in its win over ESU, the first time for KU this season. The last time it posted a triple-yardage rusher and receiver in the same game was against ESU in 2014.

SCHOOL-RECORD RUN: Terry Williams (West Orange, N.J./Cosby (Phoenix College)) took his first handoff vs. ESU last week for a school-record 98-yard touchdown. It broke Emneko Sweeney's 17-year record of 91 yards from 1998. It was the second-longest touchdown run in PSAC history and the longest run in the conference since a record 99-yard run by Edinboro's Lester Frye in 1991.

ANOTHER GAME, ANOTHER CATCH: Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) has caught a pass in all 41 of his career games, a school-record. It is the longest active streak in the PSAC for consecutive games with a catch. If Reed caught a pass in every game this season, he would close his career with a streak of 44 games, the third-longest in PSAC history.

KELLEN'S CORNER: Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) is having a career year, ranking in the top-five in the PSAC in all receiving categories. He ranks third in receiving yards (810), fifth in receptions per game (6.4) and fifth in receiving touchdowns (5). He has 51 catches for 810 yards this year, highlighted by a 219-yard effort in a win at Indiana (PA). He has three double-digit catch games in his career and seven 100-yard receiving performances. He has caught a pass in 26 of his 29 career games.

JUST A JUNIOR: For his career, junior wideout Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) ranks fourth all-time at KU with 21 receiving touchdowns, sixth with 2,009 career receiving yards and seventh with 144 catches.

2,000 CAREER YARDS: Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) surpassed 2,000 career receiving yards last week, the eighth player in KU history to do so.

5,000 YARDS - 50 TDs: Last week, Chad Barton (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) surpassed 5,000 career passing yards and 50 career touchdown passes, the fourth player in school history to do so.

SENIOR SEASON SWAN SONG: Redshirt senior Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) is on pace to set career-highs in all categories this year. He is averaging 84.4 receiving yards per game, sixth in the PSAC. His previous career-best was 72.5 from 2013. He is 11th in the PSAC at 5.3 receptions per game, but possibly the most impressive of all, Reed has caught a pass in all 41 of his games played, the longest active streak in the PSAC and a school-record.

RECORDS FOR REED: Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) holds two of Kutztown's three career receiving records. He has a record 2,537 receiving yards, 32nd in PSAC history, and a record 26 touchdown catches, 27th in PSAC history. He is second in KU history with 175 career receptions, 25 shy of KU Hall of Famer Mark Steinmeyer's record 200.

LONG PLAYS: KU has posted four offensive plays of 50+ yards this season, all ending in touchdowns. Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) has TD catches of 63 and 70 yards this year, James Wah Jr. (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) has a 62-yard TD run and Terry Williams (West Orange, N.J./Cosby (Phoenix College)) has a 98-yard TD run.

BLOCKED PUNTS: Sherief Sutton (York, Pa./Central York), Ryan Hubley (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) and Kurt Kenny (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) have all blocked a punt this year. Prior to this season, KU hadn't blocked a punt since 2009 and had not blocked three in a season since it blocked four in 2005.

BLOCKED PUNT FOR TD: Ryan Hubley (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) blocked a punt on Oct. 10 at West Chester, which was recovered and returned 20 yards by Tyler Pratt (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy) for a touchdown. It was the first punt block for a touchdown for KU since 2004.

STARTING CENTER: Junior Ben Cregger (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) has made 19 consecutive starts at center for Kutztown.

KEEP MOVING FORWARD: KU's offensive line and running backs have done a great job of not allowing negative-yard plays. In tackles for loss allowed, KU is third in the PSAC and 22nd in Division II with 5.00 against per game. Edinboro and Shippensburg lead the PSAC at 4.88 per game.

HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY: 2015 marks the 100th season of Kutztown University football. Beginning in 1895, Kutztown's all-time record in 815 games stands at 359-433-23 (.455).

WIN #10 AT KU: In the midst of his second season at KU, head coach Jim Clements won his 10th career game at Kutztown last week. Last year, Clements became the first KU head coach in the program's modern history to achieve a winning season in his first year at the helm of the Golden Bears with a 6-5 record.

EARLY LEAD: Kutztown has led at halftime in 14 of its last 15 wins. It had led at half in 11 consecutive victories before KU's 21-point comeback win this year at Indiana (PA).

DEFENSIVE LEADER: Zack Delp (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) has made 20 consecutive starts at middle linebacker for KU. The junior leads the team and ranks 12th in the PSAC with 65 tackles at a career-best 8.1 per game. He has notched 10 or more tackles in four games this year and has eight double-digit tackle games in his career. For his career, Delp is 14 tackles shy of 200.

400-YARD RUSHING ATTACK: KU ran for a season-high 400 yards in its win over Millersville, the first 400-yard performance in recorded school history. KU ran the ball 57 times, the most in 12 years since it ran 62 times at Cheyney on Nov. 8, 2003.

BARTON'S BUNCH: Chad Barton (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) ranks third in the PSAC this season in passing yards (2,220), third in touchdowns (21), third in completions (169) and fourth in completion percentage (60.1). His 277.5 passing yards and 298.4 total yards per game are both career-highs.

MOVING ON UP: In 19 career starts under center, Chad Barton (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) ranks fourth in school history with 50 passing touchdowns, one shy of Kyle Spotts for third all-time. Barton moved into fifth at KU in career pass attempts last week (692) and remains fifth in yardage (5,147) and completions (408).

ALL-AMERICAN TACKLE: Returning All-American Jordan Morgan (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Northwest) anchors the offensive line from his left tackle position. He has only missed one game in his career and has started at left tackle in 29 of Kutztown's last 30 games, including a streak of 10 consecutive starts. He was the team MVP last year and earned his first All-PSAC East First Team award. Morgan earned Preseason All-America honors from Lindy's Sports and College Football America.

PASS ATTACK: Dating back to 2011, Kutztown has thrown 30 or more pass attempts in 33 of its last 40 games (82.5 percent).

TEAM CAPTAINS: Kutztown's team captains for the 2015 season are Eric Condron (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge), Zack Delp (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), Jordan Morgan (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Northwest) and Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg).

STOPPING THE RUN: KU's success under second-year head coach Jim Clements has stood true with its defensive ability to stop the run. Under Clements, KU is 7-0 when holding its opponent to less than 100 yards rushing.

MAGIC NUMBER = 24: KU head coach Jim Clements is 8-0 in his Kutztown career when holding opponents to 24 or fewer points.

ALL-REGION KICKER: An All-PSAC East First Team and All-Region Third Team selection as a freshman last year, sophomore kicker Alec Rosenfeld (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) is 14-of-17 in career field goal attempts, tied for sixth all-time in school history for field goals made. He tied the school-record for field goal percentage in a season last year at 85.7 percent, and holds a career-long of 46 yards, two yards shy of the school-record.

COFFIN CORNER: Senior punter Andrew Deutsch (Kutztown, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) earned All-PSAC honors last year. He ranks fourth in school history in career punting yardage with 5,728, fourth with a 36.5 career average and fourth with 157 career punts.

ONE AND ONLY: Head coach Jim Clements is the only coach in program history to defeat Indiana (PA). KU was winless in 10 attempts against the Crimson Hawks prior to Clements' arrival in 2014, but the Golden Bears have now defeated the Crimson Hawks in back-to-back seasons.

OVERTIME HEARTBREAK: Since 1996, KU is 2-9 in overtime games. Its first OT win was a 26-23 victory over Millersville in three overtimes in the final game of the 2007 season. Its most recent OT win was the 2014 season-finale, when a last-second touchdown pass catapulted a 41-35 win at Clarion. KU's most recent overtime game was on Oct. 17, 2015, a 27-21 loss at Bloomsburg (1OT).

PSAC PRESEASON POLL: The Golden Bears were right in the middle of the pack, slotted fifth of eight teams in the East.
