LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --Â Kutztown University running back
Jaedyn Stewart (Newfield, N.J./Delsea Regional) picked up his third career PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Week honor, Tuesday, after leading the third ranked Golden Bears to a 56-35 season-opening win at Assumption.
Stewart scored four touchdowns and totaled 130 yards from scrimmage in the victory over the Greyhounds last Thursday evening. The fifth-year senior from Newfield, N.J., caught a short pass out in space and showed off his speed on the way to the end zone for a 35-yard TD to tie the game at 14 late in the first quarter before adding a 7-yard TD reception in the final minute of the second to give the Golden Bears a 35-14 lead at the half.
Stewart added 1-yard and 6-yard TD runs in the second half as KU eclipsed the 50-point mark for the third game in a row against Assumption, including last year's NCAA Second Round game.
The two-time All-PSAC East selection registered game-highs of 20 carries and 82 rushing yards. Stewart also caught three passes for 48 yards.
This is the second straight year that Stewart has earned PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Week following KU's season opener. His first career recognition came in 2024 after being named that season's PSAC Championship game MVP.
Kutztown opens its home schedule this Saturday, Sept. 12, against Clarion at noon. Tickets are on sale at KUBears.com/tickets.
