Women's Soccer Wins 4-0 at Pitt-Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Alaina Curry (York, Pa./Dallastown Area) scored twice and Katie Jaxheimer (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) and Rachel Rodriguez (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Township) notched their first goals of the season as the Kutztown University women's soccer team earned a 4-0 road victory over the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown on Tuesday afternoon.

The Golden Bears (11-4-1, 11-4 PSAC) scored in the 10th minute and never looked back in Tuesday's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup.

Curry put the Golden Bears on the board early off Morgan Staley (Landenberg, Pa./Kennett)'s third assist in the last two games. Jaxheimer extended the lead to two in the 30th minute as KU led 2-0 at the break.

Curry found the back of the net again on a rebound in the 77th minute as Rodriguez capped the scoring with 20 seconds to play with her first collegiate goal in her second career game.

With her two goals, Curry moved into 10th place all-time in program history with 19 career goals.

Freshman Imani Taylor (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) picked up the win in goal with her second shutout of the year.

Kutztown has clinched a spot in the PSAC Tournament, beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 3, but looks ahead to a pivotal regular-season finale on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Keystone Field against Slippery Rock University.

Saturday marks Senior Day for Diana Malanga (Lavallette, N.J./St. Rose), Dana Wong (West Milford, N.J./West Milford), Taylor Burt (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser), Sam Busillo (Lincoln University, Pa./Avon Grove), Logan Kramer (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor (Arkansas State)) and Alex Hoffman (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North).
