Complete KU Game Notes

LAST YEAR: In a 31-16 road win for KU over ESU last year, Kutztown's defensive unit limited East Stroudsburg to less than half of its average offensive production. ESU posted 240 total yards and entered the game atop the PSAC and fifth in Division II at 527.1 per game. KU only allowed one touchdown with its defense on the field, as ESU managed a field goal and a kickoff return touchdown in its second-lowest scoring output of the season.

200-YARD RUSHER: Kutztown allowed 209 rushing yards from Bloomsburg's Lawrence Elliot Jr. last week, the first 200-yard rusher against the Golden Bears since Bloomsburg's Jamar Brittingham in 2007. KU's last 200-yard rusher came in last year's KU-ESU matchup, when James Wah Jr. (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) churned out a career-high 205 yards on the ground. He was the first Golden Bear to run for 200 yards since Maurice Adams ran for 259 in 2004, and his carries were the most by a KU player since 2009.

LONG PLAYS: KU has posted three plays of 50+ yards this season, all ending in touchdowns. Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) has TD catches of 63 and 70 yards this year, and James Wah Jr. (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) has a 62-yard TD run.

TOP DUO: Kutztown and California (PA) are the only teams in Division II with two receivers with 600+ receiving yards. Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) leads the team with 677, followed by Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) with 641.

ANOTHER GAME, ANOTHER CATCH: Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) has caught a pass in all 40 of his career games. It is the longest active streak in the PSAC for consecutive games with a catch and tied for the longest in school history. If Reed caught a pass in every game this season, he would break Colby Tuell's school-record of 40 games with a career-closing streak of 44 games, the third-longest in PSAC history.

SENIOR SEASON SWAN SONG: Redshirt senior Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) is on pace to set career-highs in all categories this year. He is averaging 91.6 receiving yards per game, sixth in the PSAC. His previous career-best was 72.5 from 2013. He is averaging a career-best 5.6 receptions per game, ninth in the PSAC. Possibly the most impressive of all, Reed has caught a pass in all 40 of his games played, the longest active streak in the PSAC and tied for the school-record.

RECORDS FOR REED: Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) holds two of Kutztown's three career receiving records. He has a record 2,503 receiving yards, 34th in PSAC history, and a record 26 touchdown catches, 27th in PSAC history. He is second in KU history with 172 career receptions, 28 shy of KU Hall of Famer Mark Steinmeyer's school-record 200.

BLOCKED PUNTS: Kutztown blocked a punt in back-to-back games earlier this year for the first time in the last 10 years. Sherief Sutton (York, Pa./Central York) blocked a punt on Oct. 3 vs. Millersville, and Ryan Hubley (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) blocked one on Oct. 10 at West Chester. Prior to this season, KU hadn't blocked a punt since 2009.

BLOCKED PUNT FOR TD: Ryan Hubley (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) blocked a punt on Oct. 10 at West Chester, which was recovered and returned 20 yards by Tyler Pratt (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy) for a touchdown. It was the first punt block for a touchdown for KU since 2004.

KEEP MOVING FORWARD: KU's offensive line and running backs have done a great job of not allowing negative-yard plays. In tackles for loss allowed, KU is second in the PSAC and 22nd in Division II with 5.00 against per game. Bloomsburg leads the PSAC at 4.71 per game.

STARTING CENTER: Junior Ben Cregger (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) has made 18 consecutive starts at center for Kutztown.

HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY: 2015 marks the 100th season of Kutztown University football. Beginning in 1895, Kutztown's all-time record in 814 games stands at 358-433-23 (.454).

CAREER WIN #75: KU head coach Jim Clements won his 75th career game three weeks ago. 66 of his wins came at Delaware Valley College from 2006-13, with the last nine while at the helm of the Golden Bears. Clements holds a career record of 75-33 with a .694 winning percentage.

KELLEN'S CORNER: Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) is off to a career year, ranking in the top-10 in the PSAC in all receiving categories. He ranks fourth in receiving yards (677), sixth in receptions per game (6.3) and seventh in receiving touchdowns (6). He has 44 catches for 677 yards this year, highlighted by a 219-yard effort in a win at Indiana (PA). He has three double-digit catch games in his career and six 100-yard receiving performances. He has caught a pass in 25 of his 28 career games.

JUST A JUNIOR: For his career, junior wideout Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) ranks seventh all-time at KU with 19 receiving touchdowns, eighth with 1,876 career receiving yards and eighth with 137 catches.

EARLY LEAD: Kutztown has led at halftime in 13 of its last 14 wins. It had led at half in 11 consecutive victories before KU's 21-point comeback win this year at Indiana (PA).

DEFENSIVE LEADER: Zack Delp (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) has made 19 consecutive starts at middle linebacker for KU. The junior leads the team and ranks seventh in the PSAC with 62 tackles at a career-best 8.9 per game. He has notched 10 or more tackles in four games this year and has eight double-digit tackle games in his career.

400-YARD RUSHING ATTACK: KU ran for a season-high 400 yards in its win over Millersville, the first 400-yard performance in recorded school history. KU ran the ball 57 times, the most in 12 years since it ran 62 times at Cheyney on Nov. 8, 2003.

NEARLY REPEATING HISTORY: In 2014 against Millersville, Kutztown posted three 100-yard running backs for the first time in school history. In 2015, it posted two 100-yard backs and was six yards shy of having three running backs with 100 yards for the second time in school history.

BARTON'S BUNCH: Chad Barton (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) ranks fifth in the PSAC in completion percentage (58.4 percent) and completions per game (20.43), fifth in passing touchdowns (17) and sixth in passing yards (1,899). His 271.3 passing yards per game are a career-high.

MOVING ON UP: In 18 career starts under center, Chad Barton (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) ranks fourth in school history with 46 passing touchdowns, fifth with 4,826 passing yards, fifth with 382 completions and sixth with 656 passing attempts.

ALL-AMERICAN TACKLE: Returning All-American Jordan Morgan (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Northwest) anchors the offensive line from his left tackle position. He has only missed one game in his career and has started at left tackle in 28 of Kutztown's last 29 games, including a streak of nine consecutive starts. He was the team MVP last year and earned his first All-PSAC East First Team award. Morgan earned Preseason All-America honors from Lindy's Sports and College Football America.

PASS ATTACK: Dating back to 2011, Kutztown has thrown 30 or more pass attempts in 32 of its last 39 games. Last week at Bloomsburg snapped a three-game streak for KU of not throwing 30 pass attempts.

TEAM CAPTAINS: Kutztown's team captains for the 2015 season are Eric Condron (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge), Zack Delp (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), Jordan Morgan (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Northwest) and Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg).

STOPPING THE RUN: KU's success under second-year head coach Jim Clements has stood true with its defensive ability to stop the run. Under Clements, KU is 6-0 when holding its opponent to less than 100 yards rushing.

ALL-REGION KICKER: An All-PSAC East First Team and All-Region Third Team selection as a freshman last year, sophomore kicker Alec Rosenfeld (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) is 14-of-17 in career field goal attempts, tied for sixth all-time in school history for field goals made. He tied the school-record for field goal percentage in a season last year at 85.7 percent, and holds a career-long of 46 yards, two yards shy of the school-record.

COFFIN CORNER: Senior punter Andrew Deutsch (Kutztown, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) earned All-PSAC honors last year. He ranks fourth in school history in career punting yardage with 5,580, fourth with a 36.5 career average and fourth with 153 career punts.

WINNING SEASON: Last year, Kutztown head coach Jim Clements became the first KU head coach in the program's modern history to achieve a winning season in his first year at the helm of the Golden Bears with a 6-5 record. Notably, Earnest Slessinger went 3-2-1 in his first year in 1929.

OVERTIME HEARTBREAK: Since 1996, KU is 2-9 in overtime games. Its first OT win was a 26-23 victory over Millersville in three overtimes in the final game of the 2007 season. Its most recent OT win was the 2014 season-finale, when a last-second touchdown pass catapulted a 41-35 win at Clarion. KU's most recent overtime game was on Oct. 17, 2015, a 27-21 loss at Bloomsburg (1OT).
