HTML Box Score KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's basketball team dialed in from long range and moved the ball around effectively in a 78-69 win over West Chest University on Saturday at Keystone Arena, taking down the second-place team in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division.
The Golden Bears (8-12, 7-9 PSAC East) started out the game with a 6-1 run and later sparked a 10-1 run to build the largest lead of the half with a score of 19-8. West Chester (16-4, 12-4), who came into the game on a five-game winning streak, needed awhile to get its offense rolling.
The Maroon and Gold remained consistent throughout the game and did not surrender the lead throughout the duration of the 40 minutes. West Chester was able to bring the deficit to one point late in the first half and also to three points late in the second half.
Brianna Morales was the player to get the ball rolling for the Golden Bears, as she had career highs in points (16), three-pointers (3), and field goals (6). Not only was she impressive with her scoring this game, she facilitated the ball and ended the game with four assists.
Senior forward
Advia Campbell finished the game with six blocks, bringing her career total to 167 and giving her sole possession of second place all-time in KU's history. She also ended the game with six rebounds, which placed her seventh all-time in KU's history. Campbell had a game-high 18 points in the contest.
Kutztown's 6-of-8 performance from beyond the arc was key in keeping the Golden Rams behind, recording more triples on Saturday than in its last three games combined. Not only did KU shoot the ball well, they were also able to distribute the ball fluently, recording assists on 20 of its 27 field goals.
Alyssa Bonenberger was another Golden Bear with a milestone this game, as she started her 100th career game. She tallied 11 points, five rebounds and a steal.
Elisa Gaffney turned in another solid performance off the bench for KU. She finished the game with 10 points, four rebounds and five steals.

Natalya Lee each dished four assists apiece, while combining for 17 points and seven boards..
The three-pointer was also crucial for West Chester late in the game, as they brought Kutztown's lead to only three with exactly a minute remaining. This was in large part due to Jasmen Clark, who ended the game with a team-high 17 points; 12 of which coming from beyond the arc.
Notably, WCU Brittany Sicinski also reached a career milestone in this game, as she was able to reach 1,000 points for her career. She finished the game with six points, six assists and four steals. Anna Kuntz and Chikish Steele-Hook recorded eight points each and Serifat Junaid led the squad with nine rebounds.
The Golden Bears remain at home this week, taking on Cheyney University this Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 5:30 p.m. at Keystone Arena. Kutztown won the first matchup on the road earlier this season, 74-61.
