KUTZTOWN, Pa. – In what seemed to be a winter game, the snow came down hard in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest between the Kutztown University and West Chester University women's lacrosse teams at Keystone Field; however, KU suffered a tough loss to the 10th-ranked Golden Rams, 22-3.
Kutztown (2-4, 0-2 PSAC) had three different scorers heading the offense, which consisted of juniors
Taylor Stone (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) and
Jillian Spencer (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township), along with freshman
Devan Davis (Chester Springs, PA/Owen J. Roberts). The Golden Bears totaled 13 shots, as opposed to West Chester's 34.
Senior goalie
JoAnn McLaughlin (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape) recorded six saves in the contest. Freshman
Abby Cox (York, PA/West York) came into the game in the second half and was able to pick up a save.
West Chester's (4-1, 1-1) offense was led by Jordan Heidelbaugh, who notched four goals. Three Golden Rams were able to come away with three goals apiece (Erin Scheno, Dina Cifelli, Erin Gallagher).
Kutztown will be home again as part of its three-game homestand against Edinboro University in a PSAC contest on Friday, March 28. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
