LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Junior Jillian Spencer (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) of the Kutztown University women's lacrosse team scored all five of the team's goals in an 11-5 setback against Georgian Court University on Saturday in a non-conference matchup.

Kutztown (0-2) tied the score up at one apiece 10 minutes into the contest when sophomore Taylor Sandin (Freehold, NJ/Colts Neck) found Spencer for the goal. Georgian Court (2-2) rallied off three more in the final minutes of the half to go into the break up 4-1.

Spencer scored two unassisted and one from teammate Lauren Schlitt (Baldwin, NY/Oceanside) in a six-minute span to narrow the deficit to 6-4 with 10 minutes left in the game. However, the Lions answered back with five unanswered goals to put the game out of reach for the Golden Bears. Sandin found Spencer one more time for the final goal of the match with 1:13 remaining.

Spencer's five goals ties her career-high that she set in last year's season-opener.

KU net minder JoAnn McLaughlin (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape) recorded 10 saves in the defeat and the Lions keeper Stephanie Lehner notched four saves in the win.

For the second straight game, Georgian Court's Cat Dee popped in four goals (1 assist) to give the senior eight on the year. Sophomore Melissa Williams collected two of her own.

The Maroon and Gold will head south for Spring Break this week, taking on Young Harris University in Georgia (Mar. 18) and Coker University in South Carolina (Mar. 19).
