#14 Bloomsburg 88, Kutztown 68 (HTML Box Score)

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's basketball team trailed by two points at halftime, but was outscored by 18 in the second half by 14th-ranked Bloomsburg University in a 88-68 loss on Wednesday night in the team's final game of the regular season.

The Golden Bears (9-17, 6-10 PSAC East) will be the sixth seed in the Eastern Division in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament. They will play at third-seeded Shippensburg University on Saturday, March 1 in the first round of the playoffs. Tipoff at Heiges Field House is set for 1 p.m.

Kutztown battled throughout the first half against a Bloomsburg team that entered the night on a 15-game winning streak. Kutztown trailed 40-38 at halftime, but came out sluggish to start the second half. Bloomsburg made three three-pointers combined with seven KU turnovers in the opening five minutes to help Bloomsburg build a 14-4 run to take a 54-42 lead.

The deficit grew to as many as 24 points late in the second half, as Bloomsburg's tough defense and hot shooting led it to victory.

Four players scored in double figures for the Golden Bears, led by Kelsey Watson (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) with 14 points and eight rebounds. 10 of her points came from the free throw line, a career-high.

Sophomore Natalya Lee (Feasterville, Pa./Rancocas Valley Regional) scored all 13 of her points in the first half as she only attempted two shots in the second half. Nicole Donahue (Wall, N.J./St. Rose) and Advia Campbell (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) each scored 12 points in the setback, while Campbell tabbed one block to increase her single-season record to 70.

Bloomsburg senior Brianna Dudeck led the way with 26 points on Senior Night, 20 points more than her season average. Jocelyn Ford scored 15 points, Adreana Sadowski scored 14 and Morgan Klunk finished with 10.

Kutztown looks for its first win of the season against Shippensburg on Saturday, as it dropped both games to Shippensburg earlier this season.
