EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Four members of the Kutztown University women's basketball team scored in double figures on Saturday afternoon, but the team fell at East Stroudsburg, 80-56, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division game at Kohler Fieldhouse.
The Golden Bears (6-13, 3-6 PSAC East) had their top four scorers account for 52 of the team's 56 points on Saturday. Sophomore
Natalya Lee (Feasterville, Pa./Rancocas Valley Regional) led the way with 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting. Freshman
Kelsey Watson (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) also scored a team-high 15 points including a 5-for-5 performance at the free throw line. It was the first time those two players scored in double figures since Jan. 11 vs. Cheyney.

Jess Harvey (Barnegat, N.J./Rumson Fair-Haven Regional) scored 12 points in 40 minutes on the floor, as
Alyssa Bonenberger (Walnutport, PA/Northampton Area)'s 10 points rounded out Kutztown's double-digit scorers. Bonenberger also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
Keturah Vactor (Pittsburgh, Pa./Vincentian Academy (California (PA))) gave Kutztown solid minutes off the bench, as she grabbed a season-high six rebounds in her fourth game of the season.
Turnovers played the most significant factor in Saturday's outcome. Kutztown gave the ball away 25 times with nine assists, as East Stroudsburg committed 12 turnovers compared to 19 assists.
Following a 9-9 tie, ESU put together runs of 9-2 and 12-2 as part of an overall 21-6 run to take a 15-point lead, 30-15, with 4:58 left in the half. Michelle Boggs scored 11 of the Warriors points during the run as Kutztown did not help itself with six turnovers.
The teams traded baskets for the remainder of the first half as Kutztown trailed 36-22 at the break. It had 16 first-half turnovers compared to East Stroudsburg's six.
East Stroudsburg led by double-digits the entire second half, as Kutztown suffered its 10th loss in its last 11 games.
The Warriors (11-9, 6-4) avenged their loss to Kutztown at Keystone Arena earlier this season, as it scored 80 points for the first time since the 2007-08 season. They had 16 players appear in the game, four of which scored in double figures. Melissa Poderis and Boggs each scored a team-high 14 points as Boggs chipped in six rebounds off the bench.
For the game, East Stroudsburg shot 50.9 percent from the game compared to 38 percent for Kutztown.
Kutztown returns home to Keystone Arena on Wednesday, Feb. 5 to take on Mansfield University at 5:30 p.m. for KUSSI Fan Appreciation Night. KU won at Mansfield on Dec. 4, 69-64.
