ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. – The Kutztown University women's bowling team won one of three matches on Sunday and finished the day tied for fourth place in the Northeast Conference (NEC) standings at the second conference meet of the season.
In its opening match of the day, KU led Sacred Heart 729-698 heading into the final and fifth game. Sacred Heart threw a game-high 220 in the final game compared to Kutztown's 160 in a 918-889 loss for KU.
KU rallied well with a 868-635 win over Caldwell, and closed the day with a 1030-857 loss at the hands of Fairleigh Dickinson, the top team in the NEC standings.
FDU leads the way through four of the six-day tournament at 13-1. Sacred Heart is second at 9-5 followed by Saint Francis Brooklyn at 8-6. KU is tied at fourth at 7-7 with Saint Francis (PA).
The top six teams in the standings following the final NEC meet of the season in February will earn a bid to the NEC Championship.
The Golden Bears return to action before the New Year at the Lehigh Valley Classic in Allentown, Pa. on Dec. 29-30.
