BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The 11th-ranked Kutztown University wrestling team won seven matches against LIU Post on Sunday, including three bonus victories in a 29-9 win at LIU's Pratt Recreation Center.  
 
Freshman Nicholas DeMarco (Lyndhurst, N.J./David Brearley Middle) opened the match with his first pin of the year, coming in 1:14 over LIU Post's Tyler Walsh. LIU won the next two bouts by decision to tie the match at 6-6.
 
KU went on to win five matches in a row. Joe Esposito (Washington Township, N.J./Saint Augustine Prep), Jackson Stabile (Lenhartsville, Pa./Hamburg) and John Balboni (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) all won by decision for a 15-6 lead through six bouts.
 
174-pounder Brandon Wolfe (New Castle, Del./Delcastle Technical) dominated in his 21-6 technical fall over Corey Ashe, and Andre Petroski (Springfield, Pa./Springfield (Bloomsburg)) followed with a pin in 3:57 to open up the lead over the Pioneers.
 
LIU Post won 5-4 in the 197-pound bout, as redshirt freshman Ryan Appleby (Belvidere, N.J./Belvidere) closed out Sunday's match with a 7-2 decision at heavyweight.
 
The Golden Bears take off from competition through the winter holidays, and return to action on Saturday, Jan. 3 at the Franklin & Marshall Open in Lancaster.
