EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The Kutztown University women's bowling team competed in bracket-style competition on Sunday, the final day of the FDU Jamboree hosted by Fairleigh Dickinson University. KU went 1-2 overall to finish 7-7 over the weekend.
Kutztown (15-9) opened its day with a 4-1 setback to Delaware State. In its following match against 14th-ranked LIU Brooklyn, KU nearly overcame a 3-0 deficit in a best-of-seven match with three straight wins to force a seventh game. Unfortunately for the Golden Bears, LIU came away with the 198-187 win in the deciding game for the 4-3 win.
In the final match of the day, Kutztown bowled over a 198 in all four of its wins in a 4-2 win over Franklin Pierce.
The Golden Bears are set to compete in the first Northeast Conference (NEC) meet of the season next weekend. The tournament takes place in Wallingford, Conn. on Nov. 8-9.
