SERIES HISTORY: Saturday marks the 23rd meeting between Kutztown and Clarion. Dating back to a 46-0 Clarion win in 1941, the Golden Eagles lead the head-to-head series 15-7. In last year's meeting in the season-opener, Kutztown tossed the go-ahead touchdown pass with 24 seconds to play in regulation, but a game-tying field goal as time expired followed by a game-winning touchdown and extra-point in overtime gave Clarion a 39-38 victory at Memorial Field. Kutztown's last win in the series and last win at Memorial Field was in 2009, 25-6. Saturday will mark the first time since 1981 that KU has ended its season at Clarion. In 1980, KU and Clarion met in back-to-back weeks to end the season. On Nov. 15, 1980, KU lost to Clarion at home, 17-14. One week later on Nov. 22, KU traveled to Clarion for the PSAC Championship game, in which Clarion won 15-14.

WINNING SEASON: Kutztown head coach
Jim Clements can become the first KU head coach in the program's modern history to achieve a winning season in his first year at the helm of the Golden Bears. Notably, Earnest Slessinger went 3-2-1 in his first year in 1929.
RUNNING TO VICTORY: Kutztown's success this season has stood true with its success of the running game. KU has won every game this season in which it runs for at least 100 yards. It has also won every game when it holds its opponent to less than 100 rushing yards. Kutztown held two of its last three opponents to negative rushing yardage, as ESU finished with -45 yards on the ground on Oct. 25, and Lock Haven finished with -26 rushing yards on Nov. 1. Last week against Shippensburg, KU allowed 194 rushing yards, 138 in the second half.
EARLY LEAD: Kutztown has led at halftime in each of its five wins this season, as well as its four wins last season. Its last comeback win in which it trailed at halftime was on Nov. 10, 2012 at Edinboro. KU trailed 21-14 at the break and scored 33 unanswered points in the second half in a 47-21 win.
HEARTBREAK HOTEL: Last week at Shippensburg, Kutztown led 19-3 at halftime and 19-16 after the third quarter. Following a 37-32 loss to the Red Raiders, it marked the first time this season that KU has lost when leading after the third quarter.
DEFENSIVE STAND: Kutztown's defensive unit ranks second in the PSAC and 22nd in Division II in allowed total yards per game at 309.9. If KU holds Clarion to less than 200 total yards on Saturday, it would mark the first time since 2001 that a KU defense allowed less than 300 total yards per game (293.2).
RED-ZONE OFFENSE: Kutztown holds a .865 scoring percentage in the red-zone, third-best in the PSAC and 22nd in Division II. It has scored on 32 of its 37 red-zone attempts, and has scored touchdowns on 22-of-37 (.595). KU was 3-of-4 in the red-zone last week at Shippensburg, when its only failed attempt was on the final drive of the game. Mercyhurst leads the PSAC at a .886 clip, followed by California (PA) at .872.
RED-ZONE DEFENSE: KU's defense ranks third in the PSAC and 44th in Division II by holding opponents to a .714 scoring percentage in the red-zone. Shippensburg was 5-for-5 in the red-zone last week against KU. Bloomsburg leads the PSAC at .650.
SOPHOMORE IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Zachary Delp (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) is second on the team with a career-high 76 tackles and 9.0 tackles-for-loss. He eclipsed 100 career tackles last week at Shippensburg, and has 107 in 18 career games. He is second on the team with three sacks. Against Lock Haven on Nov. 1, Delp notched a career-high 13 tackles, nine of which were solo tackles, and was named the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week.
PROMISING RIGHT FOOT: Alec Rosenfeld (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) has thrived in his role as a full-time freshman kicker this season. He is 12-for-13 on the year, and his 92.3 percentage leads the PSAC and is second in Division II. His 1.33 field goals per game are second in the PSAC and 17th in Division II. His 12 field goals rank third in school history, as Rosenfeld is one shy of moving into second. He kicked a season-best 46-yarder last week against Shippensburg, his second field goal this year from 44 yards or more. It is the fourth-longest field goal kicked in the PSAC this year. In the past 17 years, only one other Golden Bear has kicked a field goal 44 yards or longer (Matt Dineen vs. Cheyney in 2009). The school-record is 48 yards from 1994 and 1989.
GOOD HANDS: Kutztown's four lost fumbles this year are the lowest in the PSAC and tied for sixth-lowest in Division II.
200 TACKLE CLUB: Kutztown is one of eight teams in Division II with three current players with 200 tackles. Other teams include East Stroudsburg, Concordia-St. Paul, Lake Erie, Glenville State, St. Joseph's (IN), Colorado Mines and Augustana.
SAM I AM: Senior
Sam Dougan (Secane, Pa./Ridley) is a two-time All-PSAC MLB and leads the team with 83 tackles (sixth in PSAC) and 11.0 for a loss (10th in PSAC). He has 277 career tackles for eighth in school history, and needs 15 to move into a tie for seventh in program history. Dougan currently ranks seventh on the PSAC active career leaderboard and 30th in Division II.
ENGLISH 101: Senior
English Peay (Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington) eclipsed 200 career tackles on Oct. 9 against West Chester, one of 19 Golden Bears in the 200-tackle club. The four-year starter has 227 tackles in 40 career games. Peay holds the school-record for pass break-ups (45) and passes defended (50), and is second among active Division II players in passes defended. Peay is second in the PSAC record book for passes defended, as the PSAC record is 59 by Shippensburg's Brent Grimes (2002-05).
CAPTAIN GREENWALD: Two-time All-PSAC defensive end
Zach Greenwald (Gibbstown, N.J./Paulsboro) joined the 200-tackle club on Nov. 1 on Senior Day against Lock Haven, one of 19 players in school history with 200 career tackles. He has 205 career tackles in 45 career games. He has 32 tackles this season and ranks third on the team with 6.5 tackles-for-loss.
COFFIN CORNER: Junior punter
Andrew Deutsch (Kutztown, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) leads the PSAC with 22 punts inside the 20-yardline this season. He is third in the conference with eight 50+ yard punts, including a career-best 56-yarder this season against Bloomsburg.
TURNOVER MARGIN: Kutztown is second in the PSAC and seventh in Division II with a +1.40 turnover margin/per game. Bloomsburg leads Division II at +2.40 per game. KU has forced 24 turnovers (3rd in PSAC / 31st in Division II) and has lost 10 (t-lowest in PSAC / t-6th-lowest in Division II).
THE BARTON BUNCH: Chad Barton (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) has thrown 26 TDs this season, third in the PSAC and 14th in Division II, for fifth in school history in single-season TD passes. His ratio of 26 TDs to six interceptions is second in the PSAC, behind Liam Nadler of Gannon's 19/4 ratio. Barton is coming off his fourth 300-yard passing game of the season, after topping 300 yards in each of the first three games. In his first career start, Barton set the school-record with 64 pass attempts vs. Slippery Rock. The previous record of 63 attempts was held by Kevin Morton from 2012 against Shippensburg.
SENSATIONAL SOPHOMORE: In his second year at KU, WR
Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) has 83 catches for 1,111 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is the 16th player in school history with 1,000 career receiving yards, and he ranks 15th in career TD catches. He hauled in a 78-yard catch-and-run touchdown at Gannon to mark Kutztown's longest play from scrimmage since 2009. It highlighted a career-high 138-yard performance for Williams.
TOP TD TARGET: Anthony Kelly (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Area) has caught a team-leading nine touchdown passes this year for sixth in the PSAC and 25th in Division II. Kelly is moving his way up the KU career leaderboard with 15 touchdown catches for 11th all-time.
MR. REED: Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) hauled in a career-high 133 yards and two touchdowns last week at Shippensburg. He now has 18 career touchdowns for seventh all-time. It was a much-needed effort from Reed, who hauled in his first touchdown since the season-opener and first 100-yard outing since last year. He ranks ninth in school history with 126 career catches and 1,713 receiving yards.
FEATURED FRESHMAN: Freshman
