KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's basketball team travels to Lock Haven University on Jan. 18 to face the Lady Eagles for a Saturday afternoon battle at Thomas Fieldhouse. Tipoff on Saturday is set for 1 p.m.

The Golden Bears (6-9, 3-2 PSAC East) hold a 17-9 all-time series advantage over the Lady Eagles (3-12, 1-4), but this game marks the first between the two teams in a PSAC East conference battle. KU will look to celebrate this first with a victory in order to bounce back from the nailbiting 65-64 loss to Millersville on Wednesday. A 12-0 run by Marauders early in the second half gave them the lead for good, but the Golden Bears came back by shooting 25-of-37 from the free-throw line.

LAST TIME OUT: The Golden Bears lost a nailbiter to Millersville, 65-64, in a PSAC East road game Wednesday night. KU led at halftime, but a 12-0 run by the Marauders early in the second half gave them the lead for good, except for one possession (KU briefly lead 58-57). The Golden Bears made the comeback thanks in part to 25-of-37 shooting from the free throw line. Advia Campbell (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) (14 pts., 10 reb.) and Alyssa Bonenberger (Walnutport, PA/Northampton Area) (10 pts., 11 reb.) each posted a double-double.

STEALS APLENTY: With 13 steals on Wednesday, Kutztown has double-digit steals in 11 of its last 12 games, averaging 12.92 steals per game in that stretch. This includes a six-game stretch of 10+ steals from 11/20 to 12/18, a program best since 1998 (1/31-2/14). Kutztown also set a school record with 22 steals at Mansfield on Dec. 4. The Golden Bears rank second in the PSAC with 11.87 steals per game, behind only the 12.65 average for West Chester.

STATISTICAL ADVIA-TION: The production this year from junior forward Advia Campbell (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) soared, especially as of late. Campbell averages 9.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.3 steals (PSAC-best) and 2.1 blocks (second in the PSAC) per game. Campbell is on pace for 85 steals, which would rank her third in a single season for KU.

MRS. RELIABLE: Through her three years at KU, junior guard/forward Alyssa Bonenberger (Walnutport, PA/Northampton Area) started 67 consecutive games and counting. Her 10.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game both lead the Golden Bears. She scored in double digits in 10 of 15 games this season. Along with Campbell, her four double-doubles mark a team-high this season.

FRESH BATCH OF "3'S": Freshman guard Jenna Altomare (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area) arrived on the scene with 23-point performance against West Chester on Dec. 7. This included six three-point field goals, one shy of a school record. Since then, Altomare is in the starting lineup and provides a consistent threat from three, shooting a team-best 39.2 percent from that range. She made 14 of her first 26 three-point attempts this season.

Looking in the Other Corner: the Lock Haven Lady Eagles

MORE FROM MOYER: Junior forward Marrysa Moyer truly stepped up her game this season. She averages 17.1 points and 10.5 rebounds per game this season, marks that are good for fifth and third in the PSAC, respectively. Moyer has eight double-doubles this season and has three games with 20+ points. Moyer shoots 42.1 percent from the field.

DON'T DOUBT DAUGHTERY: Junior guard Emily Daughtery will also provide a major threat offensively, as she averages 14.5 points per game. Daughtery leads the team with 23 three-point field goals made, and she shoots 33.8 from beyond the arc. In five games after returning from a three-game layoff, she averaged 12.6 points per game.

HEY THERE, COACH: Lady Eagles head coach Jennifer Smith is in her seventh season as head coach at the university. A graduate of Millersville University, Smith started her coaching career there as an assistant. Since joining Lock Haven as head coach, the program owns a 47-121 record overall. She previous was head coach at Goldey-Beacom College.
