KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's soccer team stretched its winning streak to four games with a 3-1 win over visiting Indiana University (PA) on Saturday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup at Keystone Field.

The Golden Bears (5-3, 5-3 PSAC) struck for the early lead in the 24th minute of action against the Crimson Hawks (4-4-1, 3-4-1). Junior Sam Costello (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) dribbled her way through numerous defenders, had her shot stopped by a diving Indiana (PA) goalkeeper, and the rebound was gathered up by junior forward Rubi Mink (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) for her second goal of the season.

The assist from Costello marked the third consecutive Kutztown goal, spanning over two games, in which she assisted on the goal.

Leading 1-0 entering the second half, Kutztown carried the ball into Indiana (PA)'s corner in the opening minutes. From the corner, Mink crossed the ball to a wide-open Megan Frailer (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) in the box. Frailer took her time and beat the IUP keeper to the left side to give Kutztown the multi-goal advantage in the 47th minute.

The lead jumped to 3-0 in the 64th minute off a KU corner kick. Frailer sent the ball into the box as defender Katie Miller (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) leaned back and took a one-time shot that went over the goalkeeper for the freshman's first career goal.

The Crimson Hawks ended Kutztown's shutout streak at 392:40 spanning over five games on Saturday. Mandy Cerminara gained control of the ball in front of the Kutztown net and scored in the 79th minute to close the scoring on Saturday.

Kutztown held advantages in shots (14-7) and corner kicks (4-2) and was able to keep the ball in Indiana (PA) territory for most of the game.

Senior goalkeeper Alina Rakiewicz (Denver, PA/Cocalico) tallied five saves in her fifth victory of the season.

Kutztown remains home to close out its season-long four-game home stand on Wednesday, Oct. 2 beginning at 3 p.m. at Keystone Field.
