LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –The Kutztown University women's lacrosse team fell to No. 8 Lock Haven University 14-2 at the Charlotte E. Smith Field Saturday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup.

The Golden Bears (2-12 overall, 1-8 PSAC) were led by Jillian Spencer (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) who scored both goals for KU against the Bald Eagles (11-1, 8-0).

Although Lock Haven earned the first draw control of the game, a turnover caused by Marisa Kalodner (Havertown, PA/Haverford) led to Taylor Stone (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) taking the first shot in the first half of play. Lock Haven scored the second goal of the game less than a minute following the first, and continued on to score seven more unanswered goals to take the teams to halftime leading the scoreboard 9-0.

The Bald Eagles proceeded to score four more goals in the beginning of the second half, until Spencer took advantage of a free position shot to score the first goal for KU with 10:39 remaining in the game.

The Golden Bears refused to give up the fight and before the clock ran out, Spencer scored the second and final goal for KU on an assist by Stone with just 14 seconds remaining in the second half.

Kalodner led KU with four groundballs and two caused turnovers, while Randy Vite (Highland Mills, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) earned two draw controls.

KU goalkeeper JoAnn McLaughlin (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape) had five saves on LHU's 26 shots, limiting the Bald Eagles to finish 2-for-7 in free position shots.
