Led by Smith, Kutztown took an 8-0 victory in the first game before scoring a season-high 10 runs in the nightcap en route to a 10-0 triumph over the Lightning.

After a slow start in the first game, the Golden Bears took a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning. After senior Nicole Henninger (Reading, PA./Muhlenberg) started the inning with a double, she was replaced by freshman Jessica Kurtz (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove). Kurtz scored when Smith hit a double to right field for a 1-0 advantage.

Senior Maria Isgro (Galloway, NJ/Absegami) upped the margin to 2-0 two batters later when she hit an RBI single to score Smith form third base. Senior Brianna Knipe (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) extended the lead to 3-0 when she hit a sacrifice fly to left, scoring senior Katie Lynch (Willow Street, PA/Lampeter-Strasburg) from third base.

An error by the Lightning with two outs plated Isgro to give the Bears a four-run edge.

In the fifth inning, Smith extended the margin to 5-0 when she blasted her second home run of the season, a solo shot to center field. The Bears added an insurance run in the next inning when junior outfielder Stephanie Curry (Winchester, VA/Millbrook) scored on a passed ball for a 6-0 lead.

Smith hit her second home run of the game in the top of the seventh inning with another solo blast to center field for a 7-0 margin before the Golden Bears added another run to end the inning on a double steal attempt.

In the fourth inning, the Golden Bears added three runs to extend the lead to 4-0. A pair of doubles with one out by Sienko and Knipe gave Kutztown a 2-0 edge. After a passed ball moved Knipe to third base, she scored on a groundout by Lynch to increase the margin to 3-0. With two outs, junior Morgan Booth (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) upped the advantage to 4-0 with her first home run of the season, a solo blast to right field.
