SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – No. 12 Kutztown overcame an early deficit to dispatch Shippensburg on the road in dual match action, 24-12.
 
The Raiders took an early 6-0 lead, but the Golden Bears took six of the final eight bouts for their 12th win of the season.  The win total is the highest for KU since the 2009-10 team set a school record with 17 victories.
 
Evan Yenolevich (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh (Edinboro)) got Kutztown on the scoreboard with a 12-2 major decision at 141 over Cody Myers to cut the deficit to 6-4.  It was his fourth major decision and 11th dual victory of the year.
 
Decisions by Mitch Voelker (Shoemakersville, PA/Schuylkill Valley) and Matt Martoccio (Kintnersville, Pa./Council Rock South) followed and gave the Golden Bears a 10-6 lead.  Voelker was a 5-3 winner against Tyler Erdman at 149 and Martoccio won 7-5 at 157 over John Lindquist.
 
After Shippensburg made it 10-9 with a decision at 165, Andrew Wesner (York, PA/Central York) scored the only pin of the night for either team, taking out Dylan Treaster at 174 in just 51 seconds.  It was his second win by fall of the season and the fastest of his career.
 
With a 16-12 lead heading into the bout at 197, Vinny Campanile (Stanhope, NJ/Lenape Valley) sealed the team win with a major decision victory.  He outscored Marshall Hobbs 14-1 for a 20-12 KU lead.
 
Ziad Haddad (Orefield, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic (North Carolina)), the sixth ranked wrestler at 285 in Division II, shut out Dan Estricher 10-0 for Kutztown's fourth bonus win of the night.  It was his team-high seventh major decision of the season. 
 
Both Campanile and Haddad finish the year with 13-1 marks in dual action. 
 
Kutztown hosts the NCAA Super 1 Regional on February 22-23 at Keystone Arena.
