KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Junior Advia Campbell (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) of the Kutztown University women's basketball team led the Golden Bears in an offensive attack with 15 points and nine rebounds to extinguish the Devils of University of the Sciences 52-50, and to give KU its first home victory of the season.

Nearing the final seconds of the game, the Golden Bears (2-2) trailed the Devils (5-2) 5-48 with less than 30 seconds to play. Campbell got the game-tying bucket off an offensive rebound, but it was freshman Kelsey Watson (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) who secured the win for the women at the foul line. Following a Sciences turnover off a Watson steal, she was good for both of her free throws to lift Kutztown to a victory.

Entering the second half, the Devils were able to find their rhythm and create their first lead of the game. Camille McPherson hit back-to-back three pointers to give the Devils a 24-22 advantage over the Golden Bears.

However, KU inched its way back up and grabbed the lead when Watson sank a layup to push KU to a 29-28 advantage with 14:53 to play.

Sciences tied the game at the free throw line to make it 39-39, but the Golden Bears responded with a layup by Campbell for the lead, only to have it taken away by Sciences' McPherson. She hit a three-pointer, putting Sciences up 42-41.

Campbell grabbed a rebound in the paint and calmly laid it up for two points to give Kutztown a 47-45 lead with 2:39 to play. Sciences answered at the free throw line when Brianne Traub made both of her shots to tie the game 47-47. Shortly after, she would lay the ball up for another two points to give the Devils a two-point advantage.

It was followed by Campbell's put-back buckets and Watson's game-winning free throws.

Nicole Donahue (Wall, N.J./St. Rose), Watson, and Alyssa Bonenberger (Walnutport, PA/Northampton Area) finished with six points apiece, and Kara Funk (Dover, Pa./Dover) finished with four points.

Kutztown will face the Warriors of East Stroudsburg University on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Keystone Arena.
