LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's volleyball team secured a huge win on Saturday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup, going into Lock Haven's home arena and dropping it in straight-sets for the first time in school history.

Kutztown (11-16, 5-11 PSAC) is currently in need of some big conference wins, and it did just that Saturday on the road. Saturday's victory marks the first time KU has ever defeated Lock Haven in Lock Haven's arena, the fourth win all-time against LHU, pushing it ahead of West Chester for fifth place in the East Division.

Lock Haven (18-12, 9-9 PSAC) came into the match in third place, fresh off of a straight-set victory over East Stroudsburg. Earlier in the season, Lock Haven dropped the Golden Bears in straight-sets on Kutztown's home court; however, the Maroon and Gold executed on their opportunity to retaliate.

Chelsea Braga (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach (Fairleigh Dickinson)) and Audrey Stringer (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) were a crucial part of KU's explosive performance. Braga led the team with 11 kills, while also recording 11 digs, two service aces, and two blocks. Stringer put away 10 kills on 15 total attacks, while only committing one error for an attack percentage of .600, her third highest on the year.

Liama Goodrich (Birdsboro, PA/Daniel Boone) added nine kills, while Danielle Van Buren (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) efficiently put away seven kills and two blocks. Nicole Brumbley (Oxford, PA/Oxford) was a defensive force at the net, leading the team with four total blocks.

Setter Anna Conti (Grove City, Ohio/Grove City) assisted 34 times and recording 16 digs, while libero Madison Brake (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) led the way with 17 digs.

Morgynn McKenzie (Greencastle, PA/Greencastle-Antrim) put away three service aces, her second highest on the season.

The Kutztown attack stayed consistently efficient throughout the match, outperforming its opponent in every set. Each set victory was within five points, as KU went on to win 25-21, 25-20, and 25-22.

The Golden Bears will prepare for three more away matches next week as they travel to East Stroudsburg (Nov. 5), division-leading Shippensburg (Nov. 8), and Millersville (Nov. 9).
