LAST TIME OUT FOR KUTZTOWN: Kutztown was bested by one of the toughest teams in the Western Division as it dropped a 58-10 decision to Slippery Rock. The quarterback tandem of Alec Werner (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt) and Josh Luckenbaugh (York, Pa./Dallastown) completed passes to nine different receivers, the most since last season against Shippensburg (nine). Brett Fox (Laureldale, Pa./Muhlenburg) brought in five catches for 99 yards; both of which led the team. Senior Matt Pirolli (Warminster, PA/William Tennent) stepped in and hauled in four catches for 32 yards, and Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) caught three passes for 44 yards to round out Kutztown's top three receivers. Michael Gallagher blocked his second field goal of the season. Zach Greenwald was one of Kutztown's most active players defensively. He tallied eight tackles, 5.5 of which were for a loss. He had two sacks, marking the first KU player this season to notch a multi-sack game, with one forced fumble and a pass breakup. Kicker Andrew Deutsch (Kutztown, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) made his first career field goal on his second career attempt. He was 1-for-1 on the afternoon with a 21-yard field goal early in the second quarter. Sam Dixon-Dougan led the Golden Bears in total tackles for the third time this season. He had 10 tackles, three for a loss, with one sack and one forced fumble. TaJae Bryant (Bryn Mawr, PA/Radnor) started his first career game and tallied a career-high seven tackles. LAST TIME OUT FOR CHEYNEY: Cheyney fell to Mercyhurst 63-14 in a PSAC crossover contest. The Wolves spotted the Lakers 21 points before Cheyney answered with 14 points of its own to get back in the game. It was all Mercyhurst in the second half as the Lakers added 21 points in the third quarter and 14 more in the fourth for the margin of victory. The 63 points surrendered were the most by the Wolves all season. Eugene Moten was once again a force to be reckoned with as a returner. He returned two punts for 74 yards and four kickoffs for 97 yards. The Cheyney defensive unit was led by Isaiah Fleming. The linebacker recorded 10 tackles including four tackles for loss. Monwell Brown also registered 10 tackles.

IT ONLY GETS EASIER: Kutztown holds the 18th-toughest schedule in Division II based on past opposition. Not including games against KU, past opponents hold a record of 15-5 for a .750 winning percentage. It is the second toughest schedule thus far in the PSAC behind Gannon. Looking ahead to future opposition, KU's future opponents hold a 12-18 record for a .400 winning percentage.

SIDELINE-TO-SIDELINE: Sam Dixon-Dougan has led Kutztown in tackles in three of the five games this season. He leads the PSAC with 52 total tackles and is 12th in Division II with 10.4 per game.

TOP OF THE CHARTS: Alex Tonnies (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) leads the PSAC and is fourth in Division II with 9.8 receptions per game. He is the only freshman in Division II to average more than nine catches per game.

FAMILIAR WITH REED: Junior receiver Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) is sixth in the PSAC in receptions per game at 5.8. He averages a team-leading 85.2 yards per game, good for fifth in the PSAC.

NEXT UP: Following its game against Cheyney and its two-game home-stand, Kutztown travels to Shippensburg University on Saturday, Oct. 19 to face the Red Raiders beginning at 1 p.m. Kutztown fell to the Raiders last season, 73-35. It is the most points allowed by Kutztown in a single game in school history.
