MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Kutztown University field hockey team fell to second-ranked Millersville University 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match.

Kutztown (7-9, 3-6 PSAC) held the Marauders scoreless in the second half, and current PSAC Athlete of the Week Rachael Sanders (Fayetteville, Pa./Chambersburg (Limestone)) registered 12 saves.

Millersville (16-1, 8-1 PSAC) was able to get on the board just four minutes into the first half. Champagne Hess delivered the eventual game-winning goal for the Marauders, assisted by Samantha Ruane, to give Millersville the 1-0 advantage.

The Marauders' final goal came from Arianna Grays, when she scored off of a fast break in the 31st minute of play to put Millersville up 2-0 heading into the break. The only time this season that Millersville scored fewer goals in a PSAC contest was their 1-0 overtime loss to top-ranked Shippensburg University.

Millersville limited the Golden Bears to two shots on goal, outshot Kutztown 22-5, and had 14 penalty corners to Kutztown's five.

Moving forward, Kutztown will host East Stroudsburg on Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 2. The Golden Bears lost two games to the Warriors last season, however, KU looks to get the victory in an effort to earn a spot in the PSAC tournament.
