BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Kutztown University split six more matches to finish the Terrier New Year's Knockdown with a 6-6 record for the weekend.

The Golden Bears alternated wins and losses on the tournament's final day. KU opened the day with an 812-794 victory over LIU-Brooklyn. After falling 820-768 to Hampton, Kutztown rebounded for a 712-688 win over Delaware State. The Golden Bears beat LIU-Brooklyn a second time, 786-723, between losses to Maryland-Eastern Shore (903-789) and Wisconsin-Whitewater (793-735).
Brooke Bower (Camp Hill, PA/Cedar Cliff) led the way for Kutztown on the weekend, with an average of 202, the ninth best in the tournament. Her 243 to open the tournament was the second-best for a KU bowler at the New Year's Knockdown.
Deanna DiRado (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg Salem) gave Kutztown two bowlers in the top 10 individually. Dirado rolled an average of 201.33 to finish tenth, including a high of 239 in her final game of the weekend.
Christine Gordon (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) was 21st in the individual standings with an average of 190.67. Her tournament best was a 230 in the first game.
Kayla Maselkevich (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area) only bowled twice but had a 224.50 average fueled by a 250 in the final match of the tournament.
The tournament was Kutztown's final tune up before hosting the KU Invitational on January 25-27.
