Box Score SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Kutztown University's
Micah Fraction (Macungie, PA/Montrose Christian) poured in a career-high 35 points, but it was not enough as Slippery Rock took down the Golden Bears 99-76 in PSAC crossover action.
Fraction sank 10-of-19 field goals and went 12-of-13 from the foul line on the way to his career night.
Tracy Peal was the only other Golden Bear to reach double figures, scoring 13 points.
Mamadou Diakite (Philadelphia, PA/Constitution) led the team with six rebounds.
Slippery Rock used a 12-0 run to take a 37-16 lead with 8:11 left in the first half after a bucket by Luiz Santos.
With The Rock pulling away in the second half, Kutztown used a 20-6 run to cut the lead to 81-64 after a three by
Ryan Connolly (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) with 6:04. A jumper by Devin Taylor on Slippery Rock's next possession halted the run and the Golden Bears were unable to chip away at the lead.
Slippery Rock shot 63 percent in the first half and finished the game at 55 percent.
Darious Clark hit 11-of-15 field goals on his way to 33 points, leading five Rock players in double figures. Taylor added 16, while Santos pitched in with 14. Gerald Brooks came off the bench for 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Sa'Quan Davin netted 11 points.
Aubin Reeves dished out eight assists.
Kutztown is back in action on January 16 when the Golden Bears travel to West Chester for an 8 p.m. tip off in PSAC East action.
