KUTZTOWN, Pa. – A free position goal by Philadelphia's Kalin Hodel with 5:21 left broke a tie game as Kutztown fell at home 9-8 to the Rams in non-conference women's lacrosse.

The Golden Bears got four goals from Leeann Pica (Levittown, PA/Neshaminy) (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) and three more from Emily Solt (Bowmanstown, PA/Concord) (Bowmanstown, Pa./Concord (Del.)) in the contest. 
 
KU fell behind early, 2-0, but goals by Solt and Pica tied things up with 19:50 to go in the half.  After a 4-1 run by Philadelphia, Solt cut KU's halftime deficit to just 6-4.
 
Solt and Pica scored the first two goals of the second half to tie the contest with 20:26 remaining. 
 
Taylor Peltzer scored to put the Rams ahead with 19:55 to play, but Pica knotted things at 7-7 less than four minutes later.  Peltzer again put PU on top but Gina Carmina (Flanders, NJ/Mt. Olive) (Flanders, N.J./Mt. Olive) scored with 9:38 left in the game to tie the game at 8-8.
 
Hodel scored the game winner just over four minutes later.
 
Carmina had a goal and an assist, while Megan Schwar (Alpha, NJ/Phillipsburg) (Alpha, N.J./Phillipsburg), Marisa Kalodner (Havertown, PA/Haverford) (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) and Victoria Rost (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) each had one assist.
 
Kalodner had three ground balls and three caused turnovers.  Emily Savini (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) had four ground balls, while Schwar had three draw controls.
 
JoAnn McLaughlin (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape) (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape) stopped nine shots in goal.
 
Peltzer led the Rams with three goals scored.  Carli DiCioccio had a goal, an assist, five ground balls, two draw controls and four caused turnovers. 
 
Ellen Wright made eight saves in net. 
 
KU had 12 draw controls in the contest, compared to just six for Philadelphia.
 
The Golden Bears will look to get back in the win column on March 30 at Gannon.
