Three Pins Help Kutztown Double Up East Stroudsburg

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Fueled by pins from Evan Yenolevich (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh (Edinboro)) (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh), Micah Bollinger (Mifflinburg, PA/Mifflinburg Area) (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) and Giovanni Ortiz (Reading, PA/Reading) (Reading, Pa./Reading), the Kutztown University wrestling team picked up its fifth straight dual win with a 28-14 victory at East Stroudsburg.

The Golden Bears (8-4) jumped ahead 10-0 after the opening two bouts.  Desmond Moore (Easton, PA/Easton) (Easton, Pa./Easton) notched a 13-2 major decision over Nick Kaiser at 125 for a 4-0 lead. 
 
Yenolevich followed at 133 with his fifth straight win, pinning Chris Davis in 1:43.  It was the sophomore's team-high 18th victory of the year and his fifth win by fall.
 
The Warriors (6-13) won decisions at each of the next two weight classes to cut the KU lead to 10-6.
 
Kutztown won the three of the subsequent four bouts, however, to put the match away. 
 
Bionojel Candelaria (Reading, Pa./Middletown) and Bollinger both scored wins over regionally ranked opponents to start the run.  Candelaria defeated No. 6 Braden Turner at 157 to make it 13-6 midway through the match.  Bollinger was up next and needed just 3:53 to secure his seventh win by fall of the year and sixth straight win.  The wins gave both wrestlers 13 on the year.
 
After a win by East Stroudsburg at 174, Ortiz pinned Will Esposito in 2:47 for his second win by fall of the year and a 25-9 lead that sealed the win for KU.
 
ESU won at 197 before Vinny Campanile (Stanhope, NJ/Lenape Valley) (Stanhope, N.J./Lenape Valley) moved up to 285 and scored a 4-0 decision to end the match.
 
Kutztown will look to keep rolling when Division I Millersville (2-12) visits Keystone Arena at 7:30 p.m. on February 14.
