Micah Fraction (Macungie, PA/Montrose Christian) and Tracy Peal combined for all but 12 of the Golden Bears' points on the afternoon, but Gannon defended its home court with a 67-56 victory.

The KU (1-6) trio hit a combined 17-fo-30 (57 percent) in the contest. Brooks led the team with 18 points, six rebounds and three steals, while shooting 6-of-9 from the floor and 3-of-5 from long distance. Fraction added 16 points and dished out five assists in the game. Peal pitched in with 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting.
Gannon (5-0) received a game-high 27 points from Darrell Blanton, who hit 10-of-12 field goals and grabbed eight boards.
KU actually outshot the Golden Knights in the contest, 48 percent to 46 percent, but GU turned 16 offensive rebounds into 22 second chance points to make the difference in the game.
Gannon led by as many as 17 in the second half, but a 13-4 by the Golden Bears trimmed the lead to eight points, 60-52, after a three by Brooks with 3:52 remaining.
After a Gannon timeout, Blanton scored to stretch the lead back to double figures for the Golden Knights to end the KU run.
Kutztown's 11-point final deficit is the closest a team has come to the undefeated Golden Knights this season.
The Golden Bears will look to get back in the win column on Sunday, December 2 when they stay in Erie to face Mercyhurst.
