Box Score

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Kutztown University field hockey team could not come back from a three-goal deficit as it dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division battle to No. 4 Bloomsburg, 3-1.

The Huskies wasted little time getting their offense going as their fourth shot found the back of the cage with Jenna DiSabatino putting it over Karly Waltman (Birdsboro, PA/Twin Valley)'s head in the fourth minute. Keeping the offense up, BU registered four more shots before the Golden Bears could get into a groove, firing off five shots of their own.

In the 21st minute of action, the Huskies scored their second goal when Amber Aulenbach controlled a corner and dribbled through defenders to grab a two-goal lead which they carried into the break.

Bloomsburg's Aulenbach scored another off a corner in the second frame to build a three-goal advantage before the Maroon and Gold could get on the board.

The Golden Bears got on the board in the 60th minute when Jenna Gregory (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) found Emily Labowitz (Bala Cynwyd, PA/Lower Merion) in front of the net to bury her sixth goal of the year, cutting the deficit to two. Kutztown kept up the intensity in the final three minutes as Labowitz and Erin Reynolds (York, PA/Central York) each fired two shots on goal that were redirected Megan Eppley,

Bloomsburg held an edge in the shot department, 18-14, and held an advantage in penalty corners 11-9.

Waltman finished the day with six saves in the losing effort, falling to 4-10 on the season as Eppley picked up the win with eight saves.

The women will return home for their regular season finale on Saturday to face West Chester. Game time is set for noon with Senior Day festivities to take place prior to the start.
