The Golden Bears (6-14 overall, 4-10 PSAC) will look to bounce back from last week against the Red Raiders (9-9 overall, 6-8 PSAC) who are fourth in the PSAC East standings.

Last season, KU defeated Shippensburg twice with a 77-72 win at Heiges Field House on Jan. 12 and a 79-68 victory on Feb. 6 at Keystone Arena.

As both teams continue with their quest of consistency, Wednesday's matchup should be a close one as both teams average 63 points per game.

Kutztown's offense has been led by junior Ashley Wood (Limerick, PA/Spring-Ford) (Limerick, PA/Spring-Ford) who is averaging 15.2 ppg which is fifth in the PSAC. Last week, Wood hit a game-high 24 points in KU's 81-69 setback to Mansfield on Wednesday. Wood was 8-of-19 from the field, including 2-of-5 on 3-pointers, and went 6-of-7 from the charity stripe. Wood also helped lead Kutztown's late siege against Bloomsburg but her 10 points weren't enough from stopping the Huskies to a 72-65 victory on Saturday.

Sophomore Andrea Sisson (Richmond, VA/Godwin) (Richmond, VA/Godwin) is chipping in 11.4 ppg for the Golden Bears. Sisson who has hit 51 3-pointers is third in the PSAC for 3-point field goal percentage (43.6).

Sophomore Avery Hodgson (Surf City, NJ/Southern Regional) (Surf City, NJ/ Southern Regional) racks up 10.3 ppg. She had a game-high 21 points and made 11 of her 12 free throws against the Huskies.  She grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Hodgson continues to lead the PSAC in free throw percentage (87.8). As a team, the Golden Bears are second in the conference in free throw percentage (76.4) behind the Red Raiders (77.6).

Junior Steph Zewe (Lewistown, PA/Indian Valley) (Lewistown, PA/Indian Valley) continues to anchor a defense that tops the PSAC in defensive rebounds (28.4/game). Zewe is averaging 8.4 boards a game.

Shippensburg who is 3-5 on the road this season also has its trio of Red Raiders who average double figures in scoring. Ship is led by Monae Baker who tallies 13.6 ppg. Baker also leads the Red Raiders in rebounds (8.7/game) which is third in the conference and is shooting 48.8 percent from the field this season. Baker scored a game-high 22 points to lead Shippensburg to a 71-53 home win over Cheyney on Saturday. In Ships's 75-60 loss to Millersville on Wednesday, Baker led with 19 points on 6-of-15 shooting off the bench.

Dana Wert who is featured in several of the PSAC's top ten statistical categories, pulls in 12.2 ppg. Wert also leads her team in assists (78). D. Wert scored 14 points and led the Raiders with eight rebounds against Millersville. Shawna Wert rounds out the double figure scorers with 11.8 ppg.

Kutztown will host East Stroudsburg on Saturday, Feb. 4 for a PSAC East Divison game starting at 1 p.m. at Keystone Arena. Saturday will also be KU's Pink Zone game that serves to raise breast cancer awareness in women's basketball on campus and communities.
