KU and Lock Haven Host Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Meet: KU wins 134-128

RESULTS

KUTZTOWN, Pa. — The Kutztown University women's swimming team concluded its regular season by defeating Lock Haven University, 134-128 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) dual meet on Saturday afternoon.

For the second consecutive season Kutztown and Lock Haven joined forces to a host a Pancreatic Cancer Awareness meet to help raise money and awareness for the debilitating disease that affects so many.

Both teams wore a special edition purple and white swim cap and accepted donations throughout the meet.  All proceeds collected were donated to the American Cancer Society.

The Golden Bears (5-3 overall, 3-3 PSAC) concluded its regular season in style by utilizing team efforts.

Freshman Caitlin Davies (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) won two events for Kutztown. She was first in the 100-yard freestyle, with a time of 54.87. Davies' time in the 100-yard free was a PSAC qualifying time. She was also first in the 50-yard free (25.28.)

"Davies qualifying for the PSAC in the 100-yard free was the swim of the meet," Kutztown University head coach Tim Flannery said. "This was a great meet coming off last night's meet."
