KU falls to Slippery Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (April 9, 2011)—The Kutztown University women's lacrosse team dropped a 19-5 decision to Slippery Rock in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game Saturday afternoon. (RESULTS)

KU (4-7 overall, 0-7 PSAC) had two goals from Emily Solt (Bowmanstown, PA/Concord). Kelsey Hogan (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape), Rachel Mehaffy, and Lauren Schlitt (Baldwin, NY/Oceanside) all scored a goal. Hogan and Leann Pica recorded one assist each. The Golden Bears had 11 shots on goal.

Kutztown had 25 ground balls and caused 15 turnovers. Randy Vite (Highland Mills, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) led KU in groundballs with seven. Goalie JoAnn McLaughlin (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape) recorded eight saves.

KU returns to action when it hosts Chestnut Hill College on Monday, April 11 at Keystone Field beginning at 4 p.m. The game was originally scheduled to be at Chestnut Hill.

Slippery Rock (8-4 overall, 3-4 PSAC) will face Indiana University on Tuesday, April 12.
