KUTZTOWN, Pa. (February 24, 2011)—The Kutztown University softball team moved up three spots and is ranked 14th in week two of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Top 25 Poll.
The Golden Bears (4-0) will be playing in the annual Catawba Tournament Friday, Feb.25, hosted by Catawba University in North Carolina. In last week's poll, KU was ranked 17th.
On Friday KU will face off with No. 17 Lenior-Rhyne College at 2 p.m. and Davis and Elkins College at 6 p.m. Saturday will feature a doubleheader between Kutztown and Queens University at 4 p.m. and Augusta State University beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday will conclude the tournament with the Golden Bears and Fairmont State University at 10 a.m.
Other Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) teams ranked are Bloomsburg moving down to 6th and California remaining 20th.
Dropping out of this week's poll was No. 21 Armstrong Atlantic, No. 24 Mesa St. and No. 25 Emporia St.
The NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches, two representing each of the eight NCAA regions.
