Wrestling to honor pair of seniors Tuesday night

KUTZTOWN, PA (February 15, 2011) – On Tuesday evening, the Kutztown University wrestling team will honor seniors John Paukovits (Northampton, PA/Northampton) and Bryce Ebert (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood), who will be wrestling for the final time at Keystone Arena.

KU's final home meet of the season against East Stroudsburg will begin with recognition of the careers of these two seniors and is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Paukovits, who wrestled at 141 and 149 pounds, has amounted a 57-20 record and is currently 17th on the KU all-time career wins list. He holds a 14-5 record this season and is the top wrestler in Super Region I at 149. Paukovits had a high of 23 wins in his sophomore season (2008-09) where he finished in sixth place at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships. He also finished fifth at last year's Super Region I tournament.

Ebert has wrestled in 12 matches at 141 pounds. He has shown a tremendous amount of dedication and loyalty to the Golden Bear program over the past four years and has become a valued member to the team.

Kutztown (9-10) comes into tonight's match ranked sixth in the latest Super Region I poll and has five wrestlers individually ranked in the region.

Following Tuesday's regular season home finale, Kutztown will travel to Shippensburg on Friday, Feb 18 to compete in its final dual meet of the season.
