Golden Bears shut down West Chester in preparation for rematch in PSAC Quarterfinal

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (November 5, 2011) – Cali Snell (York, PA/York Suburban) finished with double-digit kills for the ninth time this season as the Kutztown University women's volleyball team defeated West Chester, 3-0, Saturday afternoon in its final Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match of the regular season. (BOXSCORE)

Kutztown (24-8 overall, 13-6) moves into the postseason as the second-seed in the Eastern Division.  It will play a rematch of Saturday's contest against third-seeded West Chester in a PSAC Quarterfinal match on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Snell tallied ten kills in KU's straight set victory.  She also had three blocks.

Fellow senior Erin Kissling (York, PA/Central York) had nine kills against the Golden Rams and also pitched in a team-high 16 digs.  Katie Lutz (Greencastle, PA/Greencastle Antrim), Brittany Harman (Hanover, PA/South Western) and Cait Hess (Newark, DE/St. Mark's) each had seven kills in the victory.

Lutz led KU with five blocks and is a major reason why KU leads the conference and is second in Division II in blocking.  Brianna Risch (Coatesville, PA/Coatesville) also added a pair of blocks with five kills.

Lindsey Smith (Hanover, PA/Delone Catholic) had 15 digs and should play a significant role in KU's success down the stretch in the postseason.

Junior setters Kimberlee Gomber (Washington, PA/Washington) and Dana Wright (Warminster, PA/Saint Basil Academy) continue to impress this season and turned in another great outing on Saturday.  Gomber led KU with 22 assists, followed by Wright with 18.

Game-time for Tuesday's Quarterfinal is set for 7 p.m.
