Dunne doubles her pleasure in setback at Belmont Abbey

BELMONT, N.C. (March 13, 2010) – Lindsey Crits (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown) and Jen Dunne (Chalfront, PA/Central Bucks South) scored two goals each for the Kutztown University women's lacrosse team during its 19-6 defeat to Belmont Abbey College in a non-conference match Saturday morning. Also contributing goals for the Golden Bears (0-3) were Rachel Mehaffey (Woodbury, NJ/West Deptford) and Janice Kinney (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts). Offensively, Kutztown fired 19 shots. Goalie Karly Waltman (Birdsboro, PA/Twin Valley) made three saves for the Golden Bears. Mehaffey's goal with 25 minute, 34 seconds remaining in the first half, pulled KU to within, 2-1.

 

For Dunne, who leads the Golden Bears with six goals, it was her third multi-goal effort of the season. Mehaffey and Crits upped their season goal total to four following their efforts Saturday.

 

Kutztown returns to action Wednesday afternoon when it visits West Chester in its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division opener at 4 p.m.
