KUTZTOWN, PA (December 10, 2010) – The Kutztown University wrestling team travels to Springfield, Massachusetts on Saturday December 11th to compete at the American International College Duals beginning at 11:00 a.m.
The Golden Bears will compete in three matches on Saturday as it will go against American International College, Bridgewater State University, and Roger Williams University.
Kutztown (0-2) is coming off a nice showing at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships last weekend as it placed wrestlers in four weight classes. Austin Williams (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl) (133), ranked fifth in Division II, and Ricardo Pena (157) each placed fourth at the PSAC's, and Kyle Johnson (Stewartsville, PA/Wyoming Seminary) (125) and Mitch Voelker (Shoemakersville, PA/Schuylkill Valley) (141) each placed sixth.
Junior Tim Darling (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) is ranked third in Division II at 174, but is questionable to whether he will wrestle this weekend due to injury.
Justin Grant (Easton, PA/Easton) also picked up a win at the conference championships and has an impressive 8-4 record this season.
KU's two dual matches so far came against Delaware Valley College and Elizabethtown College as it hosted a tri-meet at Keystone Arena.

About AIC - The Yellow Jackets enter with a record of 2-2 this season. AIC has posted wins over Shippensburg University and Hunter College, while dropping decisions to Seton Hill University and NCAA Division I Rutgers University. Junior 157 Aaron Smith is ranked fourth in the region with a 4-0 record this season. Sophomore 141 Chris HoffmanMarshall Giovannini is ranked eighth in Division II and second in Super Region I with a 5-1 record this season. Junior 165 Ronnie Tetreault is ranked third in Super Region I with a 7-2 record this season, while junior 133 is ranked fifth in the regional and is 6-4 heading into today's competition.
About Bridgewater State - The Bears are 0-2 in duals heading into today's competition, dropping a 37-9 decision to Division I Boston University and a 45-0 decision to Division II Bloomsburg, and are ranked ninth in the latest New England Region coaches' poll. Ken Francis is ranked ninth in Division III at 125 with a record of 13-2 this season. Zach Bates is 13-5 at 174, while Ehtan Raymond is 10-5 at 165.
About Roger Williams - The Hawks are ranked fifth in New England and are 1-1 in dual meets after recording a 30-9 win over Norwich and dropping a 26-13 decision to Johnson & Wales. Roger Williams has seven individuals with at least 10 wins this season. Nick Cambi is ranked sixth in Division III at heavyweight and is 14-, while Nick Herriack is 13-5 at 149.
Kutztown will be off until it competes in Phoenix, Arizona at the Grand Canyon Duals on New Year's Day.
