In the big picture, Kutztown's 61-42 loss to Millersville Saturday wasn't cataclysmic. Sure, the Golden Bears would've liked to shoot better than 29 percent and scored a few more points, but the bottom line is it was just one loss to a squad that is on the cusp of joining the national rankings. Kutztown still has time to recover and put itself in a great position come playoff time.

The Golden Bears (10-5 overall, 1-1 PSAC East) know they need to handle business beginning with Mansfield (3-11, 0-2) to reach their goal of winning the conference or at the very least hosting a first round playoff game. Kutztown is 5-2 on the road this season.

The Mountaineers have lost four consecutive games. In their last four losses, the Mountaineers have not scored more than 41 points. Mansfield has been led this season in scoring by Mallory Moore and Mallory Hafer. Both players average a team-high 11.9 points per game.

Like Kutztown, Mansfield has started the same five players in every game this season. Kutztown has been paced by a balanced attack led junior Melissa McQuade, who averages a team best 13.8 points per game and 7.6 rebounds. Senior Rachel Wisemilleris second in scoring (11.2) and leads the team in blocked shots (28) and 3-pointers made (35). Senior Vivian Melvin has scored in double digits in seven of KU's last eight games and is averaging 10.5 points.

Kutztown returns home Saturday afternoon when it hosts Shippensburg University beginning at 1 p.m.
