KUTZTOWN, Pa. — The Kutztown University women's lacrosse picked up a 19-9 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference crossover win over Edinboro on Senior Day Saturday at Keystone Field.
Amanda Steczak (sr. Coatesville/Coatesville) and Xiomara Marin (sr. West Patterson, N.J./Passaic Valley), both of whom were honored at halftime for Senior Day, scored goals for the Golden Bears.
Marin had two goals and Steczak had a goal and an assist.
Rachel Mehaffey (fr. West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) led the Golden Bears with six goals and two assists, while Carrie Healey (jr. Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) had four goals and an assist.
Leeann Pica (fr. Levittown/Neshaminy) and Janice Kinney (jr. Spring City/Owen J. Roberts) each scored twice, and Jennifer Natalini (jr. Pottstown/Pottsgrove) and Megan Schwar (Alpha, N.J./Phillipsburg) scored once. Natalini also had an assist.
Both KU (2-13) and Edinboro (3-10) were even throughout most of the first half, with KU eventually taking a 7-6 lead into halftime. The first half featured five ties and two lead changes.
In the second half, KU scored five straight goals to take a 12-6 lead. The Golden Bears outscored the Fighting Scots 12-3 in the second half.
Erin Myers (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) recorded six saves in the cage to pick up her second win of the season.
KU will travel to Philadelphia University for a 4 p.m. matchup Monday.
