KUTZTOWN, Pa. — Rachel Mehaffey (fr. West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) scored two goals for the Kutztown University women's lacrosse team, but seven-goal first half helped Millersville University win 13-3 Monday at Keystone Field.
Millersville jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first half in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East matchup. Liz Weekley scored three of her game-high four goals before Janice Kinney (jr. Spring City/Owen J. Roberts) broke the shutout at the 2:21 mark.
The Marauders (2-2, 1-2 PSAC East) added four more goals in the first 11 minutes of the second half before Mehaffey score two goals in less than 30 seconds to make it 11-3. Both of her goals were unassisted.
KU (1-5, 0-3 PSAC East) was outshot 37-19 in the contest.
Amanda Steczak (sr. Coatesville/Coatesville) picked up an assists on Kinney's first-half tally.
The Golden Bears will return to the field with a PSAC East contest at Bloomsburg 4 p.m. Thursday.
