Second-half run carries Kutztown past USP

KUTZTOWN, PA. (December 2, 2009) – The Kutztown University women's basketball team used an early run in the second half for an 87-54 nonconference win over the University of Sciences in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon at Keystone Arena. (BOXSCORE)

After USP narrowed the Golden Bear lead to 39-34, KU scored 14 unanswered points and went on a 31-8 run to solidify the win.

The Golden Bears used a balance attack in which all 11 players four in double figures scored at least one basket.

Freshman guard Ashley Wood (Limerick, PA/Spring-Ford) (Limerick/Spring-Ford) came off the bench to score a career-best 12 points, which tied for the team lead with Rachel Wisemiller (Hazleton, PA/Hazleton Area) (Hazleton/Hazleton) and Meredith Starr (Richmond, VA/Monacan) (Richmond, VA./Monocan).
