ERIE, Pa. — The Kutztown University women's basketball team could not hold the potent offense of Gannon University, falling 98-59 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference crossover at the Hammermill Center.
Lara Dellegrotti (sr. Berwick/Berwick) hit five 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 18 points for the Golden Bears (8-2).
Gannon (9-1) was led by Brittany Tabron and Carrie Nolan, who had 25 and 24 points, respectively.
KU was 10-of-20 from 3-point range, but just 22-of-59 from the floor. Gannon jumped out to a 48-29 halftime lead and used a 50-30 advantage in the second half to secure the win.
Gannon, which was playing KU as a member of the PSAC for the first time, held the Golden Bears' leading scorer Melissa McQuade (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) (so. Pittsburgh/Shaler) to four points.
The Golden Bears will play another PSAC crossover game at 1 p.m. Sunday at Clarion.
