Kutztown University Athletics

The 11th-ranked Kutztown women’s bowling team finished with a 7-7 team record to place 11th out of 29 teams this weekend at the Music City Classic hosted by Vanderbilt University, where 19 of the top 20 teams in the country took to the lanes. After a slow start to the tournament on the opening day, the Golden Bears rallied to win seven of its last eight to close out the weekend, led by the efforts of Senior Deanna DiRado. In a 974-933 upset win over second-ranked Nebraska, DiRado bowled a team-high 256, her highest total of the day and one of three 200-pin games. She led the team with a 202.2 average for the tournament.
