McBride poured in back-to-back 32 point performances as KU won both of its weekly matchups and extended its winning streak to nine. With a two-point lead and under ten minutes to play against the Mounties, McBride put the team on his back and went to work. The senior showed confidence and leadership down the stretch to make five straight buckets for the Golden Bears. McBride converted on all five of his free throw attempts in the final 20 minutes on his way to 20 second half points. For the game, he shot 12-of-20 from the field and 3-for-8 from 3-point range.
Against the Huskies, He was 9-for-18 from the field, made a game-high three 3-pointers, and converted on 11 of his 13 free throw attempts. McBride played a key role for KU down the stretch on both ends of the floor. He silenced the crowd with some clutch free throws in the final minute, and successfully guarded Bloom's top player in Dontahe Jordan. McBride also pulled down six rebounds. McBride is KU's leading scorer this season (21.6) and has now scored over 20 points in four straight games.
