Elizabeth Fornauf is in her first year as the coordinator of internal operations for Kutztown University athletics. She began her new role Monday, Dec. 5, 2022.
Fornauf has worked in athletic departments at both the collegiate and scholastic levels, and most recently served as the graduate assistant for the Ohio University College of Business.
At Kutztown, Fornauf will assist Director of Athletics Renee Hellert and the Associate Director of Athletics Michelle Gober in coordinating daily operations for Golden Bear athletics, including facility scheduling for practices and home contests, home athletic event management, managing graduate assistants, interns and student worker personnel, assisting with compliance tracking and coordination of departmental initiatives.
While pursuing her undergraduate degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, Fornauf joined the athletic department as its facilities and events intern during the spring 2021 semester. She assisted with event setup and breakdown, provided oversight of facility maintenance records and work requests, and helped with office operations such as student staffing and scheduling and updating/revising office manuals, policies and procedures.
Fornauf also gained experience in athletic administration as an intern with the Father Judge High School athletic department in spring, 2020. Fornauf's responsibilities were wide-ranging to include budgeting, purchasing, reporting, game management, social media content creation and interaction and completing inventory of the department's equipment. She supervised freshman/junior varsity game operations and facilitated equipment setup and breakdown for varsity contests.
Outside of athletics, Fornauf spent three years as a student ambassador with Temple's School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) from 2018-21. She helped manage STHM events, met with prospective students and parents regarding programs, services and resources and assisted with customer service, data management and student services.
Following her graduation from Temple in 2021 with a degree in sport and recreation management, Fornauf attended Ohio University, where she earned a Master of Business Administration in 2022.
While at Ohio, Fornauf was the graduate assistant for the College of Business. In that role, she assisted the Senior events director with planning, designing and reviewing events put on by the college.
