VaSID All-State second team ... Finished the regular season with a record of 20-11 … Placed fifth at the ACC Championship to earn an automatic bid to NCAAs … Picked up a 4-0 decision over Virginia’s Tyler Love in a dual … Went 3-1 at the Virginia Duals, including a win by fall in 4:19 over Campbell’s Jere Heino and a 14-4 major decision over Oklahoma’s Conor Webb … Defeated West Virginia’s Brandon Ngati in TB-2, 2-1 … Placed seventh at the Cliff Keen Invitational where he went 5-2 … Pinned Eastern Michigan’s Gage Hutchison in 4:59 at the Cliff Keen … Topped Missouri’s Austin Myers by decision in a dual, 3-1 … Went 3-0 at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic where defeated NC State’s Michael Boykin in sudden victory, 4-3.

2016-17 (Virginia Tech): Redshirted … Went 16-4 wrestling unattached at heavyweight … Tallied seven bonus point wins with six pins … Placed eighth after going 4-3 at University Nationals … Took home the 285 pound title at the Storm Open where he went 4-0 … Went 5-1 and placed fifth at the Cleveland State Open … Defeated Ohio State’s Gary Traub with a 7-5 decision at the Cleveland State Open … Pinned Robert Scherer of Virginia in 1:10 at the Appalachian Open … Pinned West Virginia’s Zach Schrader in 1:16 at the Edinboro Open.
